John Gall is an artist, designer, author, editor and teacher. Known primarily for his book cover designs for Haruki Murakami, Jennifer Egan, Vladimir Nabokov and Kazuo Ishiguro, he is also an internationally exhibited collage artist.
His design and illustration work for Alfred A. Knopf, Grove Press, New Directions, The New York Times, The New Yorker, The Criterion Collection, and Nonesuch Records has garnered many awards and has been featured in the books By Its Cover: Modern American Book Cover Design, Graphic: Inside the Sketchbooks of the World’s Great Graphic Designers, The Age of Collage: Contemporary Collage in Modern Art. His monograph, John Gall Collages 2008-2018 was published by April Snow Press.”
