You can find the following information (and more!) on the Triangulation: Habitats fundraising page.
The Triangulation anthology series is published by Parsec Ink, the publishing wing of Parsec Inc., a Pittsburgh, PA 501(c)(3) organization with a mission to promote the richness of speculative fiction as literature, art, and music, further general education in the sciences and arts, and support contributions—both scientific and artistic—to society.
The new Triangulation: Habitats anthology of science fiction, fantasy, and horror is within reach. Help us get it across the finish line?
Triangulation is an annual speculative fiction anthology series produced by Parsec, a Pittsburgh-area collective of speculative fiction writers, artists, and fans. Since 2003, the Triangulation series has published quality science fiction, fantasy, and horror. Our editorial staff is made up of volunteers, authors who believe speculative fiction makes the world a brighter place to live. One hundred percent of our income from all sources is used to cover the costs of publishing the anthology.
Beginning in 2019, Triangulation themes have been environmental in nature. The Dark Skies edition concerned light pollution. The Extinction edition was about the loss of biodiversity. This year’s Habitats edition is focused on sustainable habitation, ecosystems that provide food and shelter for people in ways that minimize resource depletion and waste production.
We’re presenting stories from authors who have been published in Asimov’s, Analog, Clarkesworld, Strange Horizons, Daily Science Fiction, Beneath Ceaseless Skies, Escape Pod, Best of British Fantasy, and Best of British Science Fiction. This year we’re also reprinting the classic 1972 Theodore Sturgeon story “Pruzy’s Pot.”
The Habitats edition will contain ~230 pages of science fiction blended with some fantasy and a dash of horror. We have acquired 23 stories and 11 poems. The stories range from a bite-sized 300 words to a full meal of 5,000.
Our authors have created compelling narratives driven by characters required to make hard choices in settings that push the boundaries of imagination:
- A man learns where he draws the line when it comes to living sustainably.
- Time dilation and cold sleep allow a traveler to passively observe humanity for thousands of years.
- A gardener looks at the bright side of the zombie apocalypse.
- Interested in sustainable housing? Get yourself a SustainaCrock™!
- Gregor Samsa’s sister helps her students come to terms with the insects in their roof gardens.
- Access to the multiverse has solved the real estate shortage. What could possibly go wrong?
Please join us on our journey.
