This summer the Hemingway’s Summer Poetry series, founded by poet Jimmy Cvetic, will celebrate its 50th Anniversary season and move to a new venue, Hop Farm Brewing Co. at 5601 Butler Street in Lawrenceville, for eight evenings on the second and fourth Tuesdays of May, June, July and August:
May 14, May 28, June 11, June 25, July 9, July 23, August 13 and August 27 at 7 p.m. (check out individual listings with expanded bios on the Littsburgh calendar)
The series was generously hosted by White Whale Bookstore in recent years, but the new venue at Hop Farm Brewing will allow us to expand programming, bring back the open mic, and provide a setting with outstanding brews and other beverages, delicious food and a larger space.
Among the poets scheduled to read this summer are: Jan Beatty, Cameron Barnett, Judith Vollmer, Fred Shaw, Michael Simms, Sheila Carter-Jones, Lori Jakiela and Dave Newman. And many of this summer’s poets and writers will be reading for the Hemingway’s Series for the first time.
