Nick and Rachel Ekstrom Courage (co-founders of Littsburgh) would like to thank The Writers Conference of Northern Appalachia (WCoNA) for presenting Littsburgh with the “Outstanding Contribution Award” at their 2022 conference at Duquesne University.
Littsburgh has been celebrating literary Pittsburgh since 2015, and we feel so strongly about highlighting the literary talent in our region and spreading the word about Pittsburgh (“one of the world’s most literary cities” – our homepage) that we’ve been doing it as a passion project since Littsburgh’s inception, mainly during nights and weekends and when we’re supposed to be working on our own book deadlines … so it is such an honor to receive this recognition from an organization that’s doing such fantastic work to celebrate and lift up voices in our region.
Thank you to everyone at WCoNA for the recognition and for the award!
The Writers Conference of Northern Appalachia Inc. (WCoNA) brings together writers and others interested in the region’s literature to honor our distinct body of work and to enhance the craft of our authors. WCoNA is a catalyst to inspire more novels, poetry, essays, history, memoir, drama, and other modes of literary writing that represent, in some way, northern Appalachia, and so create and promote a canon of writers and writing of northern Appalachia.
