Mystery Lovers Bookstore, the nationally renowned bookstore located in Oakmont, PA is pleased to announce it has two new owners: Oakmont residents, Kristy Bodnar and Tara Goldberg-DeLeo. Bodnar and Goldberg-DeLeo are thrilled to continue the legacy of the bookstore while expanding its presence in Oakmont and the literary community!
“Bookstores are enjoying a renaissance and we want to create a space to foster a love of reading and be a destination for people in the community,” Goldberg-DeLeo said. “Kristy and I share a love of literature and when the opportunity to purchase the bookstore occurred we jumped on it.”
“The locally owned businesses in Oakmont are part of what make this town so unique and desirable. I’m incredibly excited and honored to carry on the tradition that Mystery Lovers has been to the community over the years,” states Bodnar.
Additions will include:
– Expanding the children’s section
– A wider selection of genres
– And the return of the Mystery Lover’s café!

Tara Goldberg-DeLeo:
Tara Goldberg-DeLeo moved to Oakmont, PA in 2013 and one of her first stops in town was taking her infant daughter into Mystery Lovers Bookshop. Tara Goldberg-DeLeo worked at a boutique advertising agency in New York City for five years before moving into the world of Book Publishing at McGraw-Hill Education. She has worked for a variety of education companies but her dream was to own a neighborhood bookstore. When she found out Mystery Lovers Bookshop was up for sale, the first person she texted was Kristy Bodnar, a friend that shared the same passion.
Kristy Bodnar:
Kristy Bodnar moved to Oakmont, PA from New York City in 2010, falling in love with the town upon her first visit. Mystery Lovers became an immediate family favorite for her and her 3 children who all share a passion for reading. Kristy has worked in the Technology and Financial Services industry for over 20 years, but her dream has been to own a small business. Having inquired about and seriously considered the purchase of Mystery Lovers in 2012, when she learned from Tara Goldberg-DeLeo that the store was up for sale, she wasn’t going to let the opportunity pass her by again.
