Pittsburgh has a new indie bookstore: Riverstone Books is now open in the North Hills! Check out the following press release for more information…
A new independent bookstore has opened at McCandless Crossing in the North Hills. Riverstone Books brings a full-service, independent bookstore to the area for the first time in a decade. Owned and operated by Hampton-resident Barbara Jeremiah, Riverstone Books will feature a wide range of fiction and non-fiction, a spacious children’s section, and a selection of local authors and books about Pittsburgh.
“Independent bookstores are thriving in communities across the country, and as a lifelong resident of the North Hills, I knew we could support a bookstore here. In addition to connecting readers with the books they love, I’m really looking forward to hosting authors for readings and pop-up events to feature other independent Pittsburgh businesses,” said Ms. Jeremiah.
“McCandless Crossing is very pleased and excited to welcome Riverstone Books to the project. Independent bookstores are a vital part of a community. It was evident to us as we developed McCandless Crossing that the community had a strong commitment to education and reading, as evidenced by the several libraries and colleges in the area. I know Riverstone Books will be an excellent addition to the Town of McCandless and the greater North Hills area,” said Kevin Dougherty, Adventure Development principal and developer of McCandless Crossing.McCandless Crossing, a 1,200,000 square feet mixed use development, is located at the intersection of McKnight Road and Duncan Avenue in McCandless Township. McCandless Crossing is located approximately two miles north of Ross Park Mall on McKnight Road and is immediately adjacent to UPMC Passavant Hospital.
