The ABA Children’s Institute is coming to Pittsburgh (!) this week, bringing “children’s booksellers, authors, illustrators, and publishers from across the country together for three days of children’s bookselling education and activities.”
To give attendees a taste of our literary city, the ABA is hosting two bookstore tours — more information on those below. Susan Hans O’Conor of the Penguin Bookshop (who sent us the below release, thanks Susan!) says: “This is a wonderful opportunity to show booksellers and publishers from across the country what a great community we have. Join us in welcoming the ABC CHILDREN’S INSTITUTE bus tour to Sewickley!”
From June 26–28, children’s booksellers, authors, illustrators, and publishers from across the country will gather for three days of children’s bookselling education and activities at the Pittsburgh Doubletree in Green Tree. Attending authors will include Elizabeth Acevedo (With the Fire on High, HarperTeen), Alyssa Milano (Hope #1: Project Middle School, Scholastic) and Ann Patchett (Lambslide, HarperCollins).
To kick off the conference, attendees will be doing one of two bookstore tours: a full-day tour of the city stores, including White Whale, Classic Lines, City of Asylum, and Mystery Lovers, or a half-day tour which includes Riverstone Books, The Tiny Bookstore and The Penguin Bookshop.
This is a wonderful opportunity to show booksellers and publishers from across the country what a great community we have!
