Pittsburgh, PA—The first women’s business conference of its kind in Pittsburgh and the surrounding area, the WBN Conference and Gala will serve local professionals with networking and educational workshops such as leadership in business and the community; leveraging social media in a changing world; harnessing and maintaining motivation; and business development. The full-day event will take place on June 18 at the Sheraton Station Square.
Four of the contributing authors in the anthology Twenty Won are holding workshops during the conference. Twenty Won is a bestselling anthology of strong, determined women who had the drive to start (and re-start) their businesses and nonprofit organizations all during the first year of COVID-19.
Twenty Won creator Kelli A. Komondor of K2 Creative & PR stated, “I’m so thrilled that many of the authors have continued to use the book as a tool to promote themselves and their businesses.” She went on to say, “Having outlets to connect with other women in business, like the book and the WBN Conference, is vital in today’s world. One can never have enough support – especially female entrepreneurs and business owners.”
Additional speakers from the anthology include Cori Wamsley, Renee DeMichiei Farrow, and Holly McIlwain. “I’m really excited to share about magnetizing your audience with storytelling at the WBN Conference,” Wamsley, CEO of Aurora Corialis Publishing, said. “Storytelling is a tool that business owners can really benefit from because it lets their audience see themselves in you. It’s the best way to build know, like, and trust, and I’ll share some techniques in my workshop to make it super easy.”
Since its founding over 30 years ago, Women’s Business Network (WBN, Inc.) has grown to support 20+ chapters in Southwestern PA. “We’re excited to honor women of the community with awards of achievement to advance their professional growth, including Woman of the Year Award, Service Award, and Rising Star Award – for women leaders under 40,” said Tracy Montarti, board president. Ariel Mookherji, chair of the special events committee added, “We’ll also announce our Annual Service Project for 2022 – 2023 and recognize our incoming board members. We are excited for this new avenue to facilitate growth for our organization and fellow women in our community.”.
